G DATA analysts counted around 3.2 million new malicious apps for Android by the end of the third quarter of 2018. The threat situation for smartphones and tablets is constantly increasing. For this reason, the use of a mobile security solution is becoming increasingly important for users. The renowned research institute AV-TEST regularly puts security apps for Android to the test. Also in November 2018, G DATA Internet Security Android detected all malware for the seventh time in a row and achieved the highest score for the tenth time in a row. This proves it: G DATA provides Android users with the best possible protection against malware.

In November 2018, the independent research institute AV-TEST tested a total of 20 security solutions for Android for their protective effect against current threats. The tested apps had to prove their complete protection functions and properties in a realistic test scenario. The security applications were also tested for performance and battery consumption.

G DATA Internet Security Android detected all malware, achieved 100 percent malware detection and is thus above the industry average in the test field. The smart security app was also convincing in terms of performance and battery consumption. The security solution of the German IT security manufacturer rightly received the full score and, as a result, the coveted AV-TEST certification.
