| Question: | After installing AVK on Windows XP with SP2 the computer becomes so slow that it is practically unusable. |
| Response: | The Windows Data Execution Prevention program is probably blocking the AVK scanner startup process. This program flags some memory areas as “unexecutable”, either independently or using compatible microprocessors. The Data Execution Prevention will terminate the program if a program code attempts to run from a protected memory location, regardless of whether it is malicious. Select “My Computer > Properties > Advanced > Settings/Performance > Data Execution Prevention”, enable “Turn on DEP for essential Windows programs and services only” and reinstall AVK.
